Recurrency training will last approx 4 days and consist of the following:
- Mandatory Ground School (1 day)
- Simulator Training (5 hours)
- Simulator PPC (2 hours)
- Aircraft PPC (1 hour)
Recurrency training is an ideal opportunity for you to practice procedures and manouevres in both the aircraft and simulator, which you wouldn’t usually be able to practice whilst flying on line.
Mandatory Ground School
The 1 day Mandatory Ground School will cover the following subjects:
- Windshear and Wake Turbulence
- Dangerous Goods
- Crew Resource Management
- Aviation Security (AvSec)
- Emergency training
These classes must be attended at least once a year.
The Simulator Training will be conducted in the C208 Legacy Simulator. It will consist of 2 lessons, 5 hours total.
- Basic IFR – Revise Simplified Legacy Flows and IFR procedures in advance.
- Emergency and abnormal procedures – Revise memory items in advance.
Note: Recurrency lessons 1 and 2 are the same as Initial/Upgrade lessons 2 and 3. For reasons of practicality, you may be paired up with a pilot attending one of these courses.
The Simulator PPC will be an IFR navigation flight with some failures and abnormal situations. You may choose you own route, however it must be a route which you haven’t flown before. Approach plates may be found in the simulator room.
You must plan this route in advance.
The Aircraft PPC will consist of general handling, unusual attitudes and a simulated engine failure. You will also be given the opportunity to practice any manouevres which you feel would be beneficial.
You will also be required to pass an exam on memory items, limitations, SOPs/COM and aircraft technical. You may find all of the required study material here.
